1st XIII Captain - James Dolan

Hi I’m James Dolan, Team Captain. I joined the club in 2008 as a fresher and had no previous Rugby League experience, since then I have seen and helped the club grow from strength to strength. During the 2009–10 season the 1st XIII finished strongly in 4th place in the Midlands 2 league, and finished off the season by making it to the Student RFL trophy quarter finals. Overall the team won 6 out of 12 games it played.

Currently we have a strong squad of around 35 members, and the 1st XIII is still competing in the Midlands 2 League. We are also looking to field a non-leagued 2nd XIII to help develop players and give a platform for players outside of the main team to get some game time. This should help to build on the previous success of the club and lead to us fielding 2 leagued teams in the near future. To help us achieve this we have 3 fully qualified coaches, and have invested heavily in new equipment.

The season to come should see us place highly in the league and hopefully improve our success in the cup competition.
